Bilkent University Distinguished Teaching Awards

The Bilkent University Distinguished Teaching Awards recognize excellence in university-level teaching at Bilkent. Awards are nomination-based, using documentation from students, alumni, and colleagues and judged by a central teaching awards committee (BilTAC) against explicit criteria. Nominations are prepared and submitted by Department Chairs or their designates and reviewed at faculty and university levels. The process is intended to assess sustained teaching performance across multiple courses and years.

Any full-time faculty member who has completed a minimum of three full years of teaching at Bilkent is eligible. Staff or students of any faculty are encouraged to submit nominations to their Department Chair or Dean; the Department Chair is the nominator.

Nominations are submitted by Department Chairs (or designates) to Deans and forwarded to BilTAC; nomination packages must be submitted online through the DAIS service and must not exceed 10 pages (excluding full resume).
