ACARE’s African Women in Science Program 2027-2028

The ACARE’s African Women in Science Program 2027-2028 is a capacity-building opportunity for women scientists from the African Great Lakes region. It targets students and early-career researchers working on freshwater issues and related social sciences, with an emphasis on the African Great Lakes and their basins. The program runs for about 11 months, beginning in January/February and ending in November, and may include an international travel component.

International exposure; professional recognition; networking opportunities; capacity building; scientific collaboration.

Women aged 23-40 who are nationals of one of the ten riparian countries of the African Great Lakes region and who hold a Bachelor’s degree related to freshwater sciences; proficiency in English; actively conducting scientific work or studies related to the African Great Lakes.
