Graduate Research School Scholarships (UQGRSS) – includes Research Training Program (RTP)

The Graduate Research School Scholarships (UQGRSS) provide living stipends and tuition support for higher degree by research candidates (PhD, MPhil and research professional doctorates) at The University of Queensland. Scholarships include a living stipend, tuition fee coverage and Single Overseas Student Health Cover for eligible international recipients. The scholarship normally covers 3.5 years of candidature with the possibility of one extension in line with UQ and RTP policy.

Living stipend ($39,220 per annum tax free, 2026 rate), tuition fee coverage, Single Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC); scholarship duration 3.5 years with possible extension.

Applicants must be nominated by an enrolling school or institute at UQ and assessed by the Graduate Research School as meeting all conditions for admission to a higher degree by research program. Current enrolled HDR candidates may also apply via specified rounds.

Submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) for the preferred research program via the UQ application portal; if EOI is supported by the nominated supervisor, submit a final application or complete the online application form for currently enrolled HDR candidates, including CV, referee reports and candidature details.
