Berlin Residency Award

The Berlin Residency Award is a philanthropic travel scholarship for postgraduate research (HDR) students in the humanities, social sciences and the arts at The University of Queensland. It provides support for research and related activities in and around Berlin, Germany, aimed at strengthening ties between German and Australian scholars. The award is intended to enable travel that leverages unique research capabilities or collections of German institutions and to build collaborations between UQ and German humanities institutions.

Travel funding up to $10,000

Open to current UQ HDR (postgraduate research) candidates in the fields of the Humanities, Social Science and the Arts; travel must occur to and around Berlin, Germany.

Apply online via the UQ application form and attach Principal Advisor endorsement, CV, budget spreadsheet and supporting documents (e.g. letters of invitation); submit by 11:59pm Sunday 25 October 2026.
