Targeted Grant in MPS

The Targeted Grant in MPS supports high-risk theoretical mathematics, physics and computer science projects of exceptional promise and scientific importance on a case-by-case basis. Funding is provided for up to five years, with allowances for salary support, travel, staff, equipment and related expenses as appropriate to the proposal. Applications are evaluated through a letter of intent process on a rolling basis.

Salary support for research time, travel and conference costs, equipment and supplies, and related project expenses as approved.

PIs and co-Investigators must hold a tenured or tenure-track faculty or equivalent position at an eligible institution, and may be from non-U.S. institutions. There are no citizenship requirements for project personnel.

Submit a letter of intent via Simons Award Manager; rolling deadline; decisions within about four months of LOI submission.
