Springboard Award

The Springboard Award provides small funding grants to support basic biomedical scientists as they develop independent research careers. Awards offer up to £125,000 over two years to cover research expenses, equipment, research assistance and travel. The scheme is for researchers within five years of appointment to their first independent post who have the support of an eligible host higher education institution. Successful applicants also receive mentoring and career support from the Academy of Medical Sciences.

Applicants must be within five years of appointment to their first independent post, hold a salaried post, not currently hold significant research funding, have the support of their host organisation, and be based at an eligible higher education institution.
