Beca Ajolote Mexicano

The Beca Ajolote Mexicano is a funded program designed to support Mexican students and early-career individuals pursuing research, community interventions, or technology development to protect the Mexican axolotl. It provides a combination of financial support, mentorship, and access to facilities and networks to advance conservation projects focused on the axolotl and related ecosystems.

Monthly financial support for 12 months, a dedicated research fund, specialized mentorship, access to partnered facilities and field stations, and visibility for the project in scientific forums and media.

Open to Mexican students or residents enrolled in or recently graduated (within 2 years) from biology, ecology, environmental engineering, veterinary sciences, or related fields, with a proposal for a conservation project related to the axolotl.

Selection involves review of academic records, a project proposal (up to 5 pages), a motivation letter, and two letters of recommendation, followed by interviews for finalists.
