2027 Curatorial Research Fellowship

The 2027 Curatorial Research Fellowship offered by Rencontres d’Arles provides up to €20,000 to support a curator in developing an original photography or image-related exhibition project. The fellowship funds a two-phase process: a six-month research phase with €5,000 for research and royalties, followed by a production phase with up to €15,000 for exhibition production, subject to approval. It is open to exhibition curators (individuals or collectives) aiming to pursue an original project connected to photography or images.

€5,000 for research and royalties; up to €15,000 for production, covering expenses such as loan/transport of artworks, prints, framing, production costs, accommodations during exhibition opening, insurance, and related production costs; exhibition design, communication, installation and dismantling support.

Applications may be submitted by an individual curator or by co-curators or a collective who wish to undertake an original research project connected to photography or images.
