ODA Research Management Capacity Strengthening

The ODA Research Management Capacity Strengthening scheme provides grants to embed and enhance institutional research management practices to support equitable international research partnerships. Awards are aimed at research offices and research management functions (including HR, finance and legal) to develop sustainable institutional-level change. Projects are expected to involve collaboration between institutions in eligible ODA countries and UK-based institutions and to deliver changes that continue beyond the life of the award.

Grant funding to support institutional research management capacity-strengthening activities; awards have a duration of 18–24 months.

Awards are aimed at research offices and research management functions (including HR, finance and legal operations) in Brazil, South Africa, Kenya, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Ghana, Philippines, Vietnam and/or Least Developed Countries to collaborate with institutions based in the UK. Each project must be led by a named Lead based in a research office and/or research management function in an eligible institution; the Lead’s position must last at least the duration of the grant.
