National History Day in DC

National History Day in DC is a year-long, project-based competition for students in grades 6-12 organized by the DC History Center. Participants research a historical topic related to the annual theme and create a documentary, exhibit, performance, research paper, or website. The DC program culminates in a city-wide contest with school contests held earlier in the year and a final city-wide event in spring.

Open to DC students in grades 6–12 from school, club, or homeschool settings.
