PhD Position (Center for Medical Genetics) - Vrije Universiteit Brussel

A funded full-time PhD scholarship to develop sequencing-based methods to detect chromosomal abnormalities in early IVF embryos within the Center for Medical Genetics at Vrije Universiteit Brussel. The project focuses on applying and optimizing latest sequencing technologies and computational methods for preimplantation genetic testing. The appointment is based at the Brussels Health Campus (Jette) and is linked to doctoral enrolment at VUB.

Applicants must hold an MSc (or equivalent) in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Biomedical Sciences, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (degree completed by the start date). Candidates should have programming skills (R or Python), experience with genomic data analysis, familiarity with Linux/HPC, and must not have performed assistant work paid from operating resources for more than 12 months; (non-)EEA nationals must meet conditions for obtaining a valid permit and comply with VUB residence requirements.
