NIG Postdoctoral Fellowship

The NIG Postdoctoral Fellowship is a competitively selected, funded postdoctoral research position at the National Institute of Genetics (NIG) in Japan. Positions are for up to three years with annual reappointment and are intended for researchers conducting genetics and related life-science research. Fellows receive a salary and employment-related insurance and are expected to participate in NIG research activities and present their work at institute colloquia.

Annual salary (~4,100,000 JPY), health insurance via mutual aid association, commuting/travel allowance (if eligible), employment insurance, compensation insurance

Applicants must hold (or be expected to hold before arrival) a PhD or equivalent, have sufficient research skills to pursue genetics research, be proficient in English, and must not have been enrolled at NIG as of 2025-03-31 (current/former NIG postdocs, technical staff or specified graduate students are ineligible).
