Netherlands Prize for ICT Research

The Netherlands Prize for ICT Research recognises outstanding research in computer science and ICT. The prize is typically awarded to a single scientific researcher (or jointly in exceptional cases) and is intended as a tribute to the researcher and a promotion of the ICT field. The award includes a cash prize of €50,000 to be spent on ICT research, a certificate and a sculpture. The winner participates in a publication with an accessible explanation of the awarded work distributed digitally to schools and other institutions.

Intended for a scientific researcher who conducts innovative ICT research or is responsible for a scientific breakthrough. As a rule the prize is awarded to Dutch nationals or foreign nationals who have conducted their research at Dutch educational and/or research institutions; in exceptional cases it can be awarded jointly.
