Doctoral Dissertation Completion Fellowship 2025

The Doctoral Dissertation Completion Fellowship 2025 provides a stipend to support a one-year leave from teaching and administrative duties to complete a dissertation that advances research on peacebuilding, security, and development. The program includes two mandatory workshops per year to help fellows develop their chapters and writing, with mentorship and professional development opportunities. It targets African scholars and practitioners and aims to promote next-generation social science research in Africa.

Stipend up to US$10,000; participation in two workshops per year; mentorship from senior scholars; professional development and networking opportunities.

Citizens of any African country who are enrolled toward a PhD at an accredited university, or affiliated with an institution in Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa, Tanzania, or Uganda; must be in the final year of writing with at least two dissertation chapters completed.

Online application form including a research proposal and bibliography, current CV, proposed timeline and budget, two reference letters, and language evaluation if required.
