Wallenberg Academy Fellows 2023 prolongation grant

The Wallenberg Academy Fellows 2023 prolongation grant is a competitive extension of funding for researchers who received a Wallenberg Academy Fellows grant in 2023. Successful nominees receive a five-year prolongation grant intended to support their research at a Swedish university, with the host university guaranteeing a relevant position and co-funding part of the salary. Up to 60% of the original Wallenberg Academy Fellows 2023 cohort may be awarded an extension.

Prolongation grant of SEK 2,200,000 per year for five years; bridge grant of SEK 1,000,000 for year six for fellows not granted prolongation. University co-funding of salary and contributions to indirect costs and rent.

Swedish universities and institutions of higher education may nominate Wallenberg Academy Fellows who received their grant in 2023 (with some conditional exceptions for fellows from 2021 or 2019). The nominee must approve the nomination, hold a relevant position at the host university, spend at least 80% of their working time at the host university, and cannot simultaneously hold a Swedish Research Council Consolidator Grant.

Nominations must be submitted electronically by the nominating university via the Foundation's e-application portal and include specified documentation (vice-chancellor approval, project summary, project proposal, CV, career account, publications list, Swedish popular summary, and budget indication).
