SSHRC Postdoctoral Fellowships 2024-2025

The SSHRC Postdoctoral Fellowships provide stipendiary support to recent PhD graduates in the social sciences and humanities to undertake original research, publish findings, develop networks, and prepare for research-intensive careers. The fellowships are valued at $70,000 per year over two years, for a total of $140,000, and can begin on the first of any month between May 2025 and January 2026. These fellowships support scholars in establishing a research base at an important time in their careers.

Financial support for two years to conduct research and establish a research base; includes stipend and affiliated institutional support.

Applicants must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents (or a protected person) by the deadline, must not hold a permanent faculty position, must have finalized arrangements for affiliation with a recognized university or research institution, must not have applied more than twice before to SSHRC Postdoctoral Fellowships, and must not have already received a postdoctoral award from SSHRC, NSERC, or CIHR; they must also be eligible to undertake full-time postdoctoral research for the award period.
