Bürger-Akademie

The Bürger-Akademie is a one-year honorary scholarship programme by the Stiftung Polytechnische Gesellschaft that recognises and supports outstanding volunteers in democracy and civil-society engagement in Frankfurt. It combines a one-year stipend with an open continuing-education offer, including seminars and workshops on communication, digitalisation, project management, organisational development, leadership, rhetoric, team-building and project work. The programme aims to qualify, acknowledge and network Frankfurt-based volunteers and to provide sustaining peer networks beyond the programme year.

One-year stipend combined with access to ten programme events including seminars, project workshops and networking opportunities; recognition and public acknowledgement of volunteer work.

The programme is for volunteers (ehrenamtlich Engagierte) active in democracy and civil-society work in Frankfurt. Candidates are typically proposed by their volunteer organisations and a municipal advisory board selects the scholarship recipients.

Participants are proposed by their volunteer organisations; a committee of the advisory board decides the selection.
