Maya și Nicolae Simionescu Research Fellowship

The Maya and Nicolae Simionescu Research Fellowship is an annual competitive research grant supporting biomedical research projects carried out in Romania. The fellowship awards €10,000 to finance a 12-month research project. It targets young researchers working in Romanian research institutions or universities. The programme is administered by the Romanian Academy in partnership with the Romanian Society of Cell Biology and the Institute of Cellular Biology and Pathology "Nicolae Simionescu".

Applicants must be Romanian citizens with stable residence in Romania or who will work in Romania during the fellowship; must hold university degrees (bachelor/master) and a doctorate in fundamental biological or biomedical sciences; maximum age 40. Applicants must have at least intermediate knowledge of English.

Two-stage competition: Stage I — submit a project abstract (max. 500 words), a motivation letter (max. 250 words) and CV by email; Stage II — shortlisted candidates submit a full project dossier (research project in extenso). Documents are sent electronically to the programme email.
