Manufacto

Manufacto is a school programme run by the Fondation d'entreprise Hermès that integrates craft workshops into the curriculum from primary to lycée. Classes participate in twelve two-hour sessions led by a trio of professionals (an artisan, an assistant and a teacher) to learn practical skills in trades such as leatherwork, carpentry, saddle-making, plastering or plumbing and to produce designed objects. The programme aims to introduce students to craftsmanship values, develop practical application of academic subjects and open orientation perspectives toward artisan careers. It is delivered in partnership with the French Ministry of National Education and Compagnons du Devoir and is implemented in participating academies.

Teachers and pedagogical teams working within the Foundation's partner academic authorities may submit a project for the 2027–2028 school year.

Submit a project (call for applications) during the open window; the call for the 2027–2028 school year is open from 11 January to 15 March 2027 and targets teachers and pedagogical teams in partner academies.
