IRB Barcelona International PhD Fellowships 2026

IRB Barcelona is offering up to 15 PhD fellowships for the 2026-2027 academic year for national and international candidates wishing to undertake a doctoral degree in biomedicine. Fellowships include up to 7 Severo Ochoa predoctoral contracts and up to 8 FPI positions associated with MICINN-funded calls. Successful candidates join IRB Barcelona research groups and carry out research in various areas of biomedicine under group leaders at the institute.

Predoctoral contracts / FPI PhD positions to undertake doctoral research within IRB Barcelona research groups.

Applicants must have completed by September 2026 a university degree that gives access to doctoral studies in Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Medicine, Pharmacy, Physics or related fields (300 ECTS, of which at least 60 must correspond to master level) or hold a non-EHEA degree that gives access to doctoral studies in Spain.
