Fulbright Austria Prize in American Studies

An annual prize awarded for the best master's or doctoral thesis in American Studies (broadly defined) completed at an Austrian university. The competition is managed by the Austrian Association for American Studies in cooperation with Fulbright Austria. One or two monetary prizes are awarded to recognize superior academic achievement. Winners are announced at the AAAS annual conference.

Monetary prize of either €1000 (single prize) or €750 each (two prizes); announcement and recognition at the AAAS annual conference.

Students who completed a master's thesis or a doctoral thesis in relevant disciplines at Austrian universities in the 2024–25 academic year are encouraged to apply; supervisors/advisors and students may submit applications.

Send a short cover letter (in the body of the email) stating why the work is prize-worthy and a copy of the thesis (attached PDF or a link to a publicly accessible file) by email to Univ.-Prof. Dr. Christian Quendler at christian.quendler@uibk.ac.at.
