III Onfil

The III Onfil is the National Philosophy Olympiad organised by the Universidade Federal de Santa Maria in partnership with multiple educational and research institutions across Brazil. It is a multi-stage contest (school, regional and final stages) centred on an essay competition in Portuguese, with a subsequent national selection for the International Philosophy Olympiad based on essays in a foreign language. The event includes a regional stage on 2026-06-19 and a final stage to be held in September or October 2026 (location contingent on funding).

Participation in school, regional and possibly final stages; top twenty placed students in each region at the regional stage qualify to participate in the Seletiva Nacional for the 35th International Philosophy Olympiad.

Open to students from public and private schools in any Unidade da Federação who have not completed secondary education before the second semester of 2026 and who are no older than 19 years on 2026-12-31.

Schools must register via a state-specific form by 2026-05-08. After a school secures vacancies, the school must register its selected students via a form provided by email between 2026-05-18 and 2026-06-05.
