Astrophysics Summer Research Programme

A summer research programme placing undergraduate physics students in self-contained research projects supervised by department researchers in Oxford Astrophysics. Projects run with supervision, include lectures and seminars on astrophysics and academic careers, and encourage participation in department life. Typical project duration is around eight weeks and students are paid as employees of the University at the Oxford living wage.

Students currently in the third year of a relevant undergraduate degree or combined undergraduate masters, or in the fourth year of a five-year Scottish masters, a five-year undergraduate masters with foundation year, or a four-year Scottish Bachelor's degree; students who already have a Bachelor's or Masters degree, or who are in the final year of a Masters degree, are not eligible. Due to UK visa regulations, only candidates who do not require a visa to work in the UK may be accepted; EU students with Pre-Settled status and current students in the UK on a Tier 4 visa allowing vacation employment are eligible.

Submit a single PDF containing a 1-page CV and 1-page cover letter via the online application form; rank top 3 project choices. Provide one academic referee who submits a short letter via a Google form or by email.
