AfOx-Research Alpha Industry (RAIN) Fellowship Programme 2026

The AfOx-Research Alpha Industry (RAIN) Fellowship Programme invites mid-career African researchers to collaborate with industry partners and Oxford-based scholars to develop research addressing real-world industry challenges in AI and emerging technologies across Energy, Agriculture, and Health. Fellows will be matched to an Africa-focused industry partner and work together to refine their research focus on industry-relevant questions. The programme lasts 12 months and includes 2 months in-person residency in Oxford.

Includes 2 months in-person residency in Oxford and a 12-month fellowship with industry collaboration and Oxford-based mentorship.

Mid-career African researchers from universities or research institutes who focus on the application of AI and emerging technologies in Energy, Agriculture, and Health.
