South African Reserve Bank (SARB) Data Science Graduate Development Programme 2027 for South African postgraduates

The SARB Data Science Graduate Development Programme is a one-year opportunity for postgraduates to develop deep capabilities in advanced analytics within central banking. Graduates will be placed in SARB’s central bank departments from February 2027 to January 2028, with learning interventions at the SARB Academy and occasional work in a Data Lab environment.

Exposure to SARB departments, participation in learning interventions at the SARB Academy, development of professional skills such as communication and presentation, and potential permanent appointment after the programme based on performance and alignment with SARB values.

Candidates must have a postgraduate qualification (ideally completed coursework) in Data Science, Machine Learning/AI, Predictive Analytics Modelling, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Digital Technology, Fintech, Economics with Econometrics or related fields; must be a South African citizen; must have strong academic results (average 70%+) and solid communication skills; Fintech experience is an added requirement.
