Stanford HAI Data Science Scholars Program

A two-year fellowship combining the HAI Graduate Fellows and SDS Data Science Scholars programs for exceptional Stanford PhD students. The program provides research funding, tuition support, mentorship, and a structured interdisciplinary community focused on data science and AI. Scholars pursue foundational, applied, and human-centered AI research across Stanford’s seven schools. Participants engage in seminars, collaborative projects, and an annual conference showcase.

~$29K/year stipend, 50% tuition support, $2,000/year research stipend, dedicated coworking space, faculty and industry mentorship, community/networking, seminar participation and annual conference showcase

Open to current Stanford PhD students in any field with at least two years left in their PhD program; an advisor recommendation letter is required; candidates with less than two years remaining may be considered case-by-case.
