Stanford Institute for Human-Centered AI (HAI) and Stanford Data Science United States 2026

Information

A two-year fellowship combining the HAI Graduate Fellows and SDS Data Science Scholars programs for exceptional Stanford PhD students. The program provides research funding, tuition support, mentorship, and a structured interdisciplinary community focused on data science and AI. Scholars pursue foundational, applied, and human-centered AI research across Stanford’s seven schools. Participants engage in seminars, collaborative projects, and an annual conference showcase.

Eligibility

Open to current Stanford PhD students in any field with at least two years left in their PhD program; an advisor recommendation letter is required; candidates with less than two years remaining may be considered case-by-case.
