Video Algorithms Intern, Video Coding (Gaussian Splatting), Fall 2026

A 24-week Fall 2026 research internship on the Video Algorithms team at Netflix focused on Gaussian Splatting compression and novel-view synthesis for streaming. The role involves investigating compression strategies, trade-offs between size/training-time/quality, experiments to reduce encoding time, and building a proof-of-concept GS rendering pipeline. The position requires strong software engineering and machine learning skills and is publish-adjacent research work embedded with the Netflix Video Algorithms group. Location is Los Gatos, CA (with possible placement in Los Angeles, CA).

24-week paid internship; hands-on research experience on Gaussian Splatting for streaming; potential publication-adjacent work.

Currently pursuing a PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or Statistics with expected graduation June 2027 or later; research fit in 3D/4D scene reconstruction, novel-view synthesis, Gaussian Splatting/NeRF, differentiable rendering, neural graphics, or 3D computer vision.
