The International Young Physicists’ Tournament (IYPT) is a team-oriented scientific competition in which secondary school students work on open-ended physics problems and present their research in head-to-head physics fights. Teams typically represent countries and compete in regional and international rounds culminating in a final tournament. The competition is aimed at fostering problem-solving, experimental and presentation skills in physics among high-school students.
