Museums Assistance Program

The Museums Assistance Program (MAP) provides financial support to Canadian museums and related institutions to preserve and present heritage collections. It supports professional knowledge, skills and practices related to key museum functions, and fosters preservation of Indigenous culture and access to heritage collections. The program delivers funding through multiple components, including Indigenous Heritage, Access to Heritage, Exhibition Circulation Fund, Collections Management, Canada-France Agreement, and Digital Access to Heritage.

Funding for preservation and presentation of collections; support for Indigenous heritage projects; assistance for travelling exhibitions and hosting costs; support for collections digitization and digital content development; funding for professional knowledge, skills and resources development; assistance for Canada-France partnerships.

Canadian museums and related institutions are eligible, with each program component having its own eligibility criteria.
