CILAR/CRRF National Anti-Racism Fund Algorithm for Change Program 2025

The program consists of a series of hackathons organized by CILAR in partnership with the CRRF National Anti-Racism Fund to empower underrepresented Canadians to address hate speech using AI-driven solutions. Participants will learn to detect and counter hate speech and work toward reducing algorithmic bias in corporate systems. The initiative focuses on building real-world AI applications that promote inclusivity and racial equity in technology.

Participants gain hands-on AI experience, networking opportunities with tech leaders and social justice advocates, skill development to advance careers or businesses, and potential recognition and certification for top solutions.

Open to underrepresented Canadians, particularly individuals aged 18-40 with an interest in technology, AI, innovation, and social justice.
