EMBO Postdoctoral Fellowships 2026/2027 for postdoctoral researchers

EMBO Postdoctoral Fellowships support excellent postdoctoral researchers for up to two years, with international mobility as a key requirement. The fellowship includes a salary or stipend, a relocation allowance and support for fellows with children, and opportunities to attend professional courses and join a global EMBO Fellows network.

Applicants must hold a doctorate or equivalent at the start of the fellowship; applicants who already hold a PhD are eligible only if obtained within the two years prior to the application date; applicants must have at least one first-author publication in an international peer-reviewed journal at the time of application; various restrictions apply regarding previous host laboratory work and single project submissions per round.
