DW Akademie Kenya’s TrustLab Incubator Programme 2025 for media defenders

Applications are open for the TrustLab Incubator Programme in Kenya. The programme is an EU-funded project designed to help frontline watchdog media defend against digital threats through community-led solutions, infrastructure, and services. A grant award of up to €5,000 is provided to implement a project under the programme.

Grant funding to develop and implement a project; potential support through project resources and mentorship as part of the incubator programme (based on programme design).

Eligible applicants must not work for any paramilitary or security organisation and must be non-partisan; be registered with the relevant authorities in Kenya; have skilled and available staff committed to participation; maintain a strong connection to the communities they serve; and be committed to countering digital threats such as surveillance, intimidation, hate speech and misinformation.
