SERC Environmental Education Internship – Spring 2026

The Smithsonian Environmental Research Center (SERC) offers a full-time, paid internship in its Education Department for spring 2026. The program involves working with K–12 students, teachers, volunteers, and live estuarine animals at SERC’s Chesapeake Bay campus, with responsibilities including leading field trips, supporting teacher professional development, and completing an independent project. Interns gain exposure to public engagement, participatory science, and science communication.

Paid internship at $700 per week; hands-on experience with K–12 programs; opportunities to develop independent projects; exposure to public engagement and science communication.

Undergraduate juniors/seniors, recent graduates, and graduate students who have experience with K–12 or environmental education and an interest in science and outdoor learning.
