African Development Journalism Fellowships are administered by the International Center for Journalists with funding from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. The program places Knight International Journalism Fellows in four African countries to lead projects that improve coverage of poverty and development issues, with one year of training and mentoring for journalists and funded reporting trips outside capitals. It aims to build networks of citizen journalists and improve business-management practices in development journalism.
