Italian Government Scholarship for Foreign and Italian Citizens

The Italian Government Scholarship is a funded programme supported by MAECI for foreign citizens and Italian citizens living abroad. It covers study, training, and research activities at public or legally recognized Italian institutions, including Master’s, PhD programs, AFAM courses, research projects, and Italian language and culture courses, with preferences given to certain fields. Scholarships typically last up to nine months for most programs, with language courses lasting three months.

Tuition/fee exemption (where applicable), health and accident insurance, monthly or total scholarship payments, and potential additional allowances depending on program type.

Foreign citizens and Italian citizens living abroad (IRE) may apply.

Applications are reviewed by committees of the relevant Italian diplomatic missions; shortlisted candidates are invited to interviews before final rankings.
