The Medical Student Training in Aging Research (MSTAR) Program is a summer research program that places medical students with UC San Diego faculty mentors to conduct hands-on aging or age-related disorder research for 2 to 3 months. Participants engage in clinical activities, weekly didactic sessions, workshops, and opportunities to present their work locally and at the Annual Meeting of the American Geriatrics Society. The program provides mentorship, structured curriculum components, and a stipend for participants.

Conditions d'éligibilité
Any allopathic or osteopathic medical student in good standing who will have completed one year of medical school at a U.S. institution before starting the program; applicants must be U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents; students with doctoral degrees (PhD, MD, DVM, or equivalent) are not eligible; applicants may not hold another award or participate in another program concurrently.
Candidature
Apply via the program application (Qualtrics); required attachments include Resume/CV, Home Institution Faculty Sponsor Form (with sponsor NIH biosketch or CV), and a Personal Statement; applicants do not need to secure a UCSD mentor in advance.
