The Summer Health Professions Education Program (SHPEP) is a free summer program for students to explore interests in medicine, dentistry, nursing, optometry, pharmacy, physical therapy, public health and related health professions. The program runs at partner institutions and offers opportunities to develop competencies needed for health profession program applications, plan academic pathways, gain clinical exposure, and network. SHPEP enrolls cohorts of scholars and maintains an alumni network dating to its 1989 launch. The program is administered by the SHPEP/MSIPI National Program Office in partnership with multiple U.S. universities.
