Funding for visits of invited lecturers and practitioner-lecturers from foreign countries (visits in 2025)

A competitive funding programme to support visits by invited lecturers and practitioner-lecturers from foreign countries to teach at Lithuanian higher education institutions during 2025. Grants finance short teaching visits (typically 10–15 teaching days, with exceptional shorter visits of 5–9 teaching days possible with justification). Funding is awarded to Lithuanian higher education institutions to cover part of the costs of hosting the foreign lecturers. Hosts must contribute at least 30% of the total required funds for a visit.

Monetary support for teaching days: EUR 440 per teaching day for visitors meeting professor-level requirements; EUR 330 per teaching day for docent-level; EUR 165 per teaching day for assistant/lecturer-level. (Support applies only to days with student contact.)

Lithuanian higher education institutions may submit applications to receive funding for visits by foreign lecturers. Eligible visiting lecturers are highly qualified academic staff, researchers or practitioners from foreign higher education or research institutions, excluding citizens of Russia and Belarus.

Lithuanian higher education institutions submit applications to request funding for hosting foreign lecturers, using the Ministry's application system/portal.
