NCCR 6+ (SSH) call

The NCCR 6+ (SSH) call is a funding call for the establishment of an additional National Centre of Competence in Research (NCCR) with a clear focus on the social sciences and humanities. It supports long-term, interdisciplinary and cross-university research networks hosted at a minimum of two home institutions. The selection procedure is multi-stage: outline proposals and full proposals are evaluated by the SNSF, and shortlisted proposals are recommended to the State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation (SERI) for final prioritisation and funding decisions.

Financial funding for long-term research projects (NCCR), support for interdisciplinary networks and associated measures such as new training programmes; eligibility for federal funding recommended by SNSF and prioritised by SERI.

The call is aimed at researchers from the social sciences and humanities; interdisciplinary proposals are eligible if the main scholarly contribution lies within SSH and the majority of researchers are active in SSH. Both applicants who previously submitted proposals to the 6th NCCR call and new applicants may apply. Proposed NCCRs must be based at a minimum of two home institutions.

Submit an outline proposal to the SNSF; successful outlines proceed to full proposals. The SNSF evaluates outline and full proposals and recommends a shortlist to SERI, which performs policy assessment and prioritisation for final funding decisions.
