Karl Kessler Memorial Prize

The Karl Kessler Memorial Prize is an award administered by the University of Queensland for students in medical-related programmes. It is intended for candidates pursuing a doctor of medicine degree who have completed an elective in clinical infectious diseases, clinical microbiology, public health or related fields. Successful recipients receive a monetary prize to recognise their elective experience and interest in infectious diseases.

Monetary award of AUD 1,500

Candidates must be pursuing a doctor of medicine degree and have completed an elective in clinical infectious diseases, clinical microbiology, public health, or related fields. The scholarship is offered to Masters and Medicine (MBBS/MD) degree students.

Apply online through the official scholarship application process and submit a 500-word (or less) essay summarising elective experiences, interest in infectious diseases and the elective's benefits to future aspirations. Required documents include academic transcripts, identity proof and other supporting documents as specified.
