Prime Minister’s Awards for Teaching Excellence and Teaching Excellence in STEM 2025

The Prime Minister’s Awards for Teaching Excellence and Teaching Excellence in STEM 2025 recognize outstanding elementary and secondary school teachers in all disciplines, with a separate track for STEM. The national Award and the regional Award acknowledge inspiring teachers and include certificates and letters of congratulations, benefiting both recipients and their schools. Nominations are open for Canadian citizens or permanent residents who have taught in elementary or secondary classrooms and meet the required teaching commitment.

Recipients receive a certificate and a letter of congratulations from the Prime Minister; the recipient’s school also receives a certificate.

Open to Canadian citizens or permanent residents who are certified elementary or secondary school teachers in Canada and who have taught at least the equivalent of 2.5 days per week in a classroom for at least three years.
