Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program 2027 (Fully Funded)

The Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at the University of Rwanda provides selected scholars with comprehensive financial and academic support to pursue higher education. It targets academically talented young people facing significant social and economic barriers, with emphasis on leadership, resilience and community contribution. The program offers full tuition and registration fees, on-campus accommodation, learning materials, mentorship, leadership development, psychosocial support, and internship opportunities, aiming to prepare scholars for employment, entrepreneurship and public leadership in Africa.

Full financial support for tuition, accommodation and related costs; mentorship and leadership development; access to internships and professional networking; study-related materials and psychosocial support.

Eligible applicants are academically talented young people who demonstrate leadership potential, community-service commitment and significant socioeconomic need. Applicants may include citizens of Rwanda and other African countries, as well as refugees and displaced young people in Africa, who are applying for undergraduate or postgraduate study under the University of Rwanda admission requirements and the separate scholarship process.
