METI Japan Internship Program 2026

The METI Japan Internship Program 2026 offers internships with Japanese small and medium-sized enterprises, organized by Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. It provides opportunities for foreign students and professionals to gain practical experience in Japan, with both in-person and online formats and supporting training and allowances. The program connects participants with host companies to foster cross-cultural understanding and potential long-term employment opportunities in Japan.

Training sessions, internship insurance, internet/PC support for online format, daily allowances, airfare (for in-person), visa assistance, travel insurance, accommodation, mobile phone rental.

Applicants must be nationals of countries on the OECD/DAC list (excluding China), not reside in Japan, aged 18-40 as of August 25, 2025, and enrolled in or graduated from a higher education institution; they must provide required documents and meet language proficiency requirements.
