Schmidt Science Fellows 2027

The Schmidt Science Fellows program supports outstanding doctoral researchers to pivot into interdisciplinary postdoctoral work at world-leading institutions, with leadership and innovation training provided. Fellows come from natural sciences, engineering, mathematics, computing, and interdisciplinary areas, and receive a substantial stipend during the fellowship.

Stipend for up to two years, placement at a leading academic institution, participation in leadership and innovation training and related programs.

Applicants must hold or expect to complete a PhD between May 1, 2026 and June 30, 2027, be committed to interdisciplinary science, and be able to start the fellowship in July or October 2027.

KIT internal nomination process followed by online registration and full application submission; selection includes academic reviews and interviews.
