Competitive undergraduate research awards offered by the UNC Economics Department for Summer or Fall 2026. Awards may support research for course credit (Econ 395 or 495) or provide a $4,000 summer stipend; advisors receive a $1,000 stipend. Projects are developed with a faculty advisor and result in a completed research paper and regular meetings during the project period.

Candidature
Submit a Qualtrics application with a 2-page proposal and have the advisor indicate support via the advisor Qualtrics form; applicants may indicate preference for course credit or summer stipend.
