Biotechnet Short-term Advanced Fellowships September 2026

The Biotechnet Short-term Advanced Fellowships support advanced studies at ICGEB laboratories for scientists from East Africa. The fellowships fund ongoing collaborative research between East African researchers and groups at ICGEB laboratories in Trieste (Italy), New Delhi (India) and Cape Town (South Africa), providing access to advanced techniques and contributing to capacity building. The call includes an expression of interest deadline and a full application deadline as part of a two-stage process.

Monthly stipend, travel to the host lab, accommodation support in some locations, health insurance, and visa costs reimbursement.

Applicants must be nationals of Djibouti, Ethiopia, Kenya or Uganda and hold a recent PhD or have at least 3 years of research experience; good working knowledge of English is required.

Submit a Fellowship Expression of Interest online via the ICGEB Service Gateway between 1 July and 14 August 2026, followed by a full online application between 16 and 30 September 2026 if shortlisted.
