Bloomsbury Academic Writing Fellowship 2024

The Bloomsbury Academic Writing Fellowship 2024 is a fellowship for early career academics to develop a book idea into a form suitable for publication. The recipient receives a package of editorial support and mentorship, financial support, resources, and opportunities for events and networking throughout 2025, with the aim of preparing the work for submission to publishers.

Editorial support and mentorship, £1,000 financial support, access to events and networking opportunities, online course access, invitation to relevant Bloomsbury Academic events, and further resources.

Be of Black African or African Caribbean heritage; Be over 18 and living in the UK; Not have a publishing contract or agent for the proposed work.

Submit a short statement (max 200 words) about how the work relates to a UN SDG or Humanities/Social Sciences theme, provide a provisional Table of Contents and word count, a 200-word synopsis, a 1,000–1,500 word sample, and create a free Writers & Artists account.
