About this opportunity

The Bloomsbury Academic Writing Fellowship 2024 is a fellowship for early career academics to develop a book idea into a form suitable for publication. The recipient receives a package of editorial support and mentorship, financial support, resources, and opportunities for events and networking throughout 2025, with the aim of preparing the work for submission to publishers.

Eligibility

Be of Black African or African Caribbean heritage; Be over 18 and living in the UK; Not have a publishing contract or agent for the proposed work.

How to apply

Submit a short statement (max 200 words) about how the work relates to a UN SDG or Humanities/Social Sciences theme, provide a provisional Table of Contents and word count, a 200-word synopsis, a 1,000–1,500 word sample, and create a free Writers & Artists account.
