IIAS Asia in the World Fellowship Programme 2027–2028

The IIAS Asia in the World Fellowship Programme 2027–2028 is a nine-month international research fellowship organized by the International Institute for Asian Studies (IIAS) at Leiden University, Netherlands. It combines a residency at international partner institutions with a research stay at IIAS in Leiden, aiming to foster interdisciplinary collaboration and global perspectives on Asia. The program targets early- to mid-career researchers and knowledge professionals and offers structured research opportunities, seminars, and international networking.

Monthly stipend, research facilities and library access, opportunities to collaborate with international scholars, seminars and networking events, and a three-month placement at a partner institution in Asia, Africa, Europe, or Latin America

Applicants should hold a PhD (or be defending by September 2026) and be early- to mid-career researchers or knowledge professionals.
